Topic: 2020 Workplace Compliance

Summary: It’s all about compliance!  Compliance is an ever-evolving topic and the current legislative landscape may significantly change how you manage your workplace. Noncompliance can hurt your business. In this session, we will review some common requirements, recently enacted laws and discuss strategies to help you conquer the challenges of staying in compliance in an ever-changing legislative landscape!  Examples of some of the areas that may be covered:  Pay Statement Requirements, Paid Sick Leave, Paid Family Leave and All-Purpose Paid Leave Laws and COVID-19 and Return to Work.

Bios: 

Margaret Phelan Ferrero, Esq.

Meg Ferrero is Vice President, Assistant General Counsel for ADP’s mid-market business, Major Account Services, in Parsippany, New Jersey. She leads the Legal and Compliance teams for the Major Accounts Division and Canada. Prior to joining ADP in 2009, Meg served as Vice President, Staff Attorney for Banco Popular North America and as an associate with law firms in Miami, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico. She has exclusively represented management in all areas of employment law, contracts negotiations, real estate matters, and general management. Meg has extensive experience providing compliance guidance, business training and advice on HR, benefits, and payroll compliance.

Meg serves as a Board Member for the New Jersey Association of Corporate Counsel. Additionally, community support and involvement is very important to Meg and she spends time helping to advance the missions of organizations such as the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement New Jersey and Jersey Battered Women's Services, Inc. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida and her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Stetson University College of Law.

Tracy Sigmann, CPP, PHR, SHRM-CP

Tracy Sigmann provides regulatory compliance support to ADP’s Major Account Services and Comprehensive Services divisions and is based in Maryland.  She has extensive experience providing training and day-to-day support on payroll compliance matters and is a frequent speaker on workplace compliance.  Prior to joining ADP in 2010, Tracy was Director, HR Support Services at a large digital phone provider, where she managed the payroll, HRIS and benefit teams. With over 25 years of experience, she has worked in a variety of industries in the areas of payroll, finance, human resources, benefits and payroll technology.

Cancellations are allowed up to the deadline for the early registration date and are subject to a cancellation fee of $10.00. Cancellations after this date are not refundable and the full cost of the event is due.  All refunds are issued by check from the CCPA made out to to the original registering party.
