2020 Form W-4: Are you ready for the changes?!

This training will begin at 8:00am for one hour and cover the following:

  • Explain the reason for a new design of the W-4
  • Explain Steps 1-5 of the 2020 Form W-4
  • Explain who must use the 2020 Form W-4
  • Illustrate how to complete two of the five worksheets from Publication 15-T
  • Plus a live Q & A

Speaker: Veronica Tubman, Stakeholder Liaison

BIO: Veronica Tubman leads IRS’ efforts to provide outreach, education to practitioners and other tax professionals. As a Senior Stakeholder Liaison, Veronica is firmly committed to increasing practitioner resources and maintaining open lines of communications. She believes it is imperative to maintain effective working partnerships with practitioners.

Before reporting to Stakeholder Liaison in February, 2008, she worked in Collection as a Revenue Officer in Baltimore.
Veronica joined the Internal Revenue Service in 1984 as a Revenue Officer in Baltimore, Maryland. Her career in Collection has led her to a diversity of positions as Locator Services Coordinator, Lead-Cost Management Tax Force, Program Analyst, Analyst and Technical Services Reviewer and Advisor. Veronica most recently worked industry partners for stakeholder liaison in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Topic: Payroll’s Role with the ACA – From Form Preparation to Responding to Notices

Summary: ACA compliance reporting has been a headache for many employers. But it doesn’t have to be! Find out what best practices are, why it’s important to take a multi-disciplinary approach and why payroll has an important role to play in the process.

 

Bio: Laure handles Affordable Care Act Information Reporting projects, serving clients across their HR, IT, Tax and Legal departments. She:

  • Manages ACA information reporting for multiple clients across the professional services and legal industries; clients range from 3,000-60,000 employees
  • Advises on process improvement and risk management with regard to ACA reporting
  • Advises on ACA compliance as part of audits
  • Helps employers respond to IRS Letter 226J Notices
  • Is a member of Deloitte Tax’s leadership team for the ACA offering
